‘Living in the Moment’ ~ Places to visit in Saint Louis and in St. Charles in 2013

JULY – Make it Real!  Yes, this country was founded on the pursuit of happiness, so go after it.  Start with hanging your red, white and blue on your porch.  Be proud & be happy that you are an American. Don’t have a flag?  Go buy one and wave it proudly. Remember to check out your local 4th of July parade. Have an old-fashioned potluck picnic at the park or pool with friends and family.  Watch the fireworks  and enjoy the ohhhhh’s and the ahhhhh’s. Set off your own sparklers in your driveway. Go to the beach and fly a kite. Try a moonlight walk with a love one. Enjoy and get lost in the rhythm of the water. Lie on a blanket with a bottle of your favorite Vermeil Wine and gaze at the sparkling sky. Make a wish on a falling star. Go fishing and cook one for dinner.  Bring home a bottle of sand and decorate with seashells. Grab your kids & run around the neighborhood after a thunderstorm and shake the trees showering yourself with rain on a hot summer day. Invite friends over for a Hat & Garden party on your patio. Get out the music and twinkling lights. Cut fresh flowers and enjoy the colors & scents throughout your home. Get lost in a good book during the dog-days of summer. Make  REAL MEMORIES this summer; ditch the electronics and LIVE IN THE MOMENT!

SUMMER HAS ARRIVED! …..Start creating a new LIFE by changing  What You Do & See.  Turn off the electronics…

GRAB a friend (s), your spouse, your kids or go solo..get off the couch..step out of your comfort zone..walk or ride your bike.

Pay It Forward – Start Exercising – Eat better than you did yesterday day – Drink more water – Practice listening to the last word of every sentence you hear –  Smile – Give someone a hug – Pray and Love more.

**********************DID YOU KNOW THAT SOME OF THE BIGGEST TREASURES IN YOUR LIFE ARE IN YOUR OWN BACKYARD? ***************************

Remember that ice cream is good for the soul.  Ice cream and summer is like baseball and hot dogs.  You can’t have one without the other.  Freeze a homemade batch, treat yourself and your friends to a DQ or check out St. Charles Deters Frozen Custard.  You can also make friends with the Good Humor man aka Ice Cream Truck.

Do you have trouble fitting into your grandchildren’s already too busy life?  Ask them if they want ice cream and see how many change their mind on what they have to do. One of my all time favorite memories is my grandpa stopping not once, but twice on a road trip to buy ME an ice cream cone.  As a kid, I didn’t realize that my grandfather loved ice cream as much as I did if not more. LOL

Quit eating sugar?  Buy a whole watermelon, put it in the refrigerator for at least a day to get it ice-cold.  Cut it in large pieces and sit on the front or back porch and have a spitting the seeds contest with friends and neighbors.

After living in St. Charles for almost 20 years now, my longtime wish and dream of having a restaurant with real food, fresh food, that tastes like San Diego.  Welcome to the neighborhood, PRASINO!  Your arrival is long over due.  I’m in LOVE and can’t stop thinking of you.  For those of you looking for an experience of dining, food, and friendship, please check out my new favorite restaurant.  BE sure to thank me later!  http://www.prasino.com/locations_st_charles_mo.html
